Hello!! If you are looking for a fun, spunky, talkative, sidekick then I am the girl for you! I am GREAT with other dogs of all sizes and good with cats. I try play with cat in my foster home since we are about the same size, but he never wants to play with me, he just swats at me with his paws! Can you believe that? ! Jeeze, I just want to play! I am crate trained, but I'm not the biggest fan of my crate to be honest. I want to hang out with everyone else. My foster Mom says that I don't need to be in a crate since I don't go potty in the house and am not destructive. But, if I do need to be in a crate I might bark a little at first, but I do settle down. Now about my barking.... I do like to " talk" as my foster family puts it. I mean, I have a lot to say, so I just say it! :-) Therefore, I can only go to a home that doesn't share any walls / floors with another family- so no apartments, condos, townhouses, duplexes, etc. My foster family has been working on this with me, but to be honest they aren't having much luck yet. That being said, I will need a family who understands that this may not change, so if a lot of barking is an issue for you, no matter how adorable and sweet I am, I will not be a good fit for your home. I also will not be able to go to a home with young children as I am a little girl and pretty wiggly. Small children often think because I am small they can pick me up like a stuffed animal, and I could easily fall and get hurt.
The ideal home for me would be with someone who is home a lot, if you are retired or work from home that would be perfect for me! I do also need to go to a home that has another very plyaful dog as I LOVE to play! I LOVE to be with people whenever I can. I sleep on a dog bed in my foster parents bedroom along with the other dogs in the house and don't make a peep all night. My favorite bed is a big circle bed that is right next to their dresser, so I can see my foster Mom.
I am still learning to trust people, so I am somewhat tentative at first. Although I am scared of meeting some new people ( not all though ), my tail is wagging the entire time. I want to trust people, but am still scared sometimes. If you just kinda hang out and give me a few minutes to check you out, I will come over and meet you when I am ready. Once I feel comfortable with you, I will jump up on your lap and love you to pieces! Once I know I can trust you, I will be your best friend. I have always loved my foster Mom and it took me just one day to adore my foster Dad. My foster family has no way of knowing what my past was and I wish I could tell them, but I can't. They assume that I was likely not treated well by at least one person at one point which is why I am a little reluctant around some new people. If you are patient with me, I will be your best friend!
If you would like to meet me, please complete the adoption application for The Rescue Crew. However, please remember the information above as my foster family will not budge on what is best for me. Thank you!
Completion of an Adoption Application via our website (www.RescueCrew.org) is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in the adoption process.
All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care.
For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well.
