**ADOPTION RETURN**

From the adopter:

“He is pretty energetic given his breed mix and age, but he likes walks and playing fetch which seem to help control his energy levels well. He is extremely playful around other dogs and always happy to meet new friends. I have not seen any aggression from him towards another dog, although he has drawn some from other dogs that do not want to play as much as he does. He seems to listen to this well though on the occasion it does happen. He has spent some time with my brother's dog when I am at work and my brother told me he has never seen any instances of food aggression from Dusty. He has not been around any cats here. The only children he has encountered has been while on walks but I can say he has been calm and gentle if they ask to approach and pet him. As far as humans go he always wants to meet new people, whether out on walks or when people come over to my house. Like I said he is full of energy and gets excited around people still which results in jumping up on people and lunging in to give kisses when people are seated. The one behavioral thing that has come up is mouthing/nipping when he is excited like this. No biting that has drawn blood or anything but it is something that I have been trying to address. He is very smart and takes well to training, he can sit, lay down, stay, shake, come and kennel up reliably at home. He still needs work on some of those commands when distractions are present. I put him through a basic intro level obedience course but the issue with my schedule and consistency with the training led to the results not quite being what I had hoped. However given his level of intelligence I'm sure in a home that has a more regular schedule he will do just fine with training progression. He loves to be pet and has no problems with being touched at all. I also have not had any problems with him around food aggression or toy possession if I take any of those things from him. Like I mentioned with the walks, he does do fine with his energy levels throughout the day and is happy to lay on the couch and snuggle or stay in on his dog bed if he isn't playing with toys. He is house trained and also does very well in the kennel. He sleeps in there overnight and is fine for periods of time in it throughout the day when needed as well. ”

Love and puppy kisses,

Fraser

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website (www.RescueCrew.org) is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in the adoption process.

All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.

The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care.

For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well.
