Little Miss Muffet is as sweet as her name implies. And, also as her name indicates, she can be a little timid when something unexpected happens!  But once she’s settled in somewhere and knows she is safe and loved, she throws caution to the wind – especially when she’s surrounded by her doggie pals. She can be timid around new people and new situations also, but regular exposure and socialization is the key to keeping her well-rounded! Muffet does best when she has another dog around to look to for guidance on new things and to feel comfortable in her homw. She is a very submissive dog and will display that to other dogs, and new people at times.  She is easily won over and will be your very best friend if given a little kindness (and treats never hurt either!).  Muffet is an unusual puppy; she is generally calm and quiet, rarely mouthy, doesn’t have loads of energy to run off, and very easily content with her situation.  She observes closely and thinks deeply.  She learns good manners and behaviors quickly from the dogs around her.  Muffet is truly a rare gem.

Muffet LOVES her people and will snuggle in, or play quietly as long as they are near.  She is fully crate trained, and if given a kong or other distraction will be quiet and fall asleep when left alone.  She walks very politely on a leash and has good recall (at least until she hits those rebellious teenage years!)  She loves other dogs and plays well with them, matching their play style.  She is also good friends with the cat in her current foster home – after being taught some manners about personal space…   She is very responsive to people and very much wants to please.  She is very food motivated and thus will be easy to train.  She only knows Sit right now, but she knows it well!  She is doing well with potty training if let out regularly.  She’s learned that’s why we go outside, so that is the first thing she does after stepping into the yard, whether she has to go or not!  If she’s not let out regularly, or soon enough after eating, she doesn’t have a solid cue yet to go outside, so may have an accident.  But if you’re paying attention, you can tell when she has to go and get her out quick!  She may decide her toy or bone is extra special and take it away privately so other puppies don’t take it. But she does not resource guard against adult dogs or people at all.  She will bark some and has shown some propensity towards the typical (and adorable) Husky “talk”.  She barks if she’s frustrated with something, or trying to get another dog to play. She will sometimes join in the pack when they are barking at some real or imagined threat.

She is still a puppy, but based on her current size, she will likely grow into a very large dog.  She is a mix of German Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog, Chow Chow (note purple spots on her tongue!) and a splash of Alaskan Malamute to elevate her potential size!

Completion of an Adoption Application via our website (www.RescueCrew.org) is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in the adoption process.

All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.

The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care.

For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well.
